OK, I think I have tried everything...Gauge dies when gets to 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I tried to clean with techron and when that did not work, I then I replaced the right side pump. I problem is at around 3/4 of a tank, the gauge dies..... then when I run it for a while, it works fine. This is the only time is goes to empty. Any suggestion??? Please help.....out of ideas.....this is in my C5 1998.......
Mine does the same thing I have tried Techron with the same results as you. I have seen others suggest Sea foam or something called BBK (i think) but I haven't tried them. If you do find a fix please post it up
I will and you do the same. the new right fuel pump cost hurt, and it did not fix the problem. If you need one, let me know, as I have the one I took out, that was good, and another used one that is working also. I made the mistake and got a new one and it did the same thing. OUCH!!!
You MAY have a firmware problem. If that's the case you can go to the dealer and get the firmware update performed. Be advised if you have a custom tune you will lose it as the dealer must reflash the computer.

Thanks, I think you are on to something. When I got the car, the dealership had to put a new computer in it. It has done it ever since I have had it. I will pull the number off the site, and go to the dealership and talk to them. We were talking today, that it seems to be somewhere else, and not the sending units. Thanks and will let you know....
I have this exact same problem, it started about 2 weeks ago on a trip between Dallas and Austin, all of a sudden my low fuel light comes on and had recently filled up, freaked me out, hoped it wasn't accurate so I stopped to feel up and it would only hold 4 bucks or so, so that was good... apparently there are known issues with the sending units, but any insight would be appreciated. thx...
haven't pulled my codes yet. I'm not really that worried about it because it only goes to empty for about 30 miles and then it wakes back up... I'm going to throw some techron in there and see what happens..
Do one more Techron 2 and then CLEAR YOUR CODES !!! Most people don't clear codes. Probably thrown Fuel Sensor 2 code...right ?
when mine was still under warranty, took it to the stealership with the fuel guage problem, they showed on the work order that all they did was add a can of Techron.... I've had the problem since, and added another can which sorted it out - I add a can every few months now...
