This seems like a Common problem... so I'm not alone Not sure if that's a good thing though.
My passenger window is stuck in the UP mode. It's up all the way, and I can hear the clicks when I push the down or up button. Either way I push it, it clicks or double clicks. I can hear it, but the window won't go down. I'm not trying to mess with it during winter, so just leaving it in the up mode for now. Also, don't wanna invest into fixing it right now....
Any other bright ideas? Maybe a little hammer tap...
If beating on the door panel does not work, then removing the panel and tapping directly on the motor, while working the switch, will usually free it up. Unloading the drive gears and motor is the best method to prevent it from sticking again.
When are you comming back to the club my friend? I made Chief Petty Officer back in July.
Hey Ray, I am still hanging around. I jump in when I can to help out. Congrats on the promotion. My son will be going in a about a year and a half. Maybe you two will cross paths. Take care my friend...
It will probably stick tomorrow for me saying this, but I've got a 97 with original regulators and 100k miles that has always worked flawlessly. Maybe there was just a bad batch? Or a later model year design change? or just dumb luck...
Some of you guys suggest *Leaving the window just a crack open*, or not all the way up.. well, wouldn't that be bad in rain? My driver's side leaks a few drops in, even with the window all the way up. And what about Road Noise... which is so bad on these cars to begin with?
