No one mentioned build quality or potential for dust intrusion around the filter. I've owned both a BW and a Vararam B2. There is a considerable obvious quality difference in the two.

I love the theory behind the Vararam, I just wish someone else, who cared about quality, had built it. I ordered one and got rid of it before I even put it on the car. It was just junk. Currently, I run a Blackwing with cutouts in the shrouds. I sure wish someone else would step in and build a quality intake that used the foglight shroulds. I'd sure buy one.

OK, but the products quality has no negative effect to do with the performence, RIGHT?
Once you installed it it´s there, you wont be able to see the bad quality afterwords?
I tought they fixed all the quality issues with the new VR-B2?
Whats the toughts on the Powerduct, should i purchase that to?

It certainly has effects on engine longevity if that filter fits really crappy, which it does. Shouldn't have to go through major modifications just to make sure something as simple as an aftermarket air filter seats properly so it can perform its intended function. Each to their own....

I have never had a filtering issue nor have anyone I know who runs a Vararam.Take a bit of care when installingit and you wont have any issues.I also would have liked to have seen a better quality product, but then the price probably would have doubled.

I've read several threads where people have had to silicone their filters in, had to add foam, etc., or had to do a lot of modifications to get it right so all the intake air is filtered. As I said, the concept is great and I believe they work. I just wish they had spent some more time on research and development. As I sit now, I believe a Vararam would out-perform my Blackwing with shroud cutouts, but not by a far enough margin to warrant a change on my end, especially with their quality issues.

Maybe they had issues with filter fitment on the early models,I dont know as I have the B2.On the later version the filter fits the housing very tightly and seals just fine.
