I had new tires and sensors installed about a year ago. Everything was fine until about two weeks ago. The sensors (all 4) began indicating 5 lbs. less than the actual tire pressure. Is there a way to "re-set" or sync. the sensors that I don't know about?
The car's a 2000.
Thanks
I don't think "syncing" is your problem but here is the procedure.
Make sure the vehicle has been stationary for at least 2 minutes before attempting to program the TPM sensors.
1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin the programming sequence.
7. Install the J 41760 (magnet) over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.
Important
If the horn does not sound after 15 seconds, remove then reinstall the TPM sensor programming tool. This procedure may have to be attempted up to three times in some instances.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed by the IPC messages:
· LEARN R FRONT TIRE
· LEARN R REAR TIRE
· LEARN L REAR TIRE
I'll try doing that. The DIC seem to know which wheel is associated etc. It's jsut odd they would start reading the pressure inacurately. I thought maybe the batteries were dying, but there pretty new.

Well, it depends how old the sensors are. Even though you bought them new they could have been sitting on a shelf somewhere for many years. Just sitting they operate at a much reduced rate but still transmit once an hour. I'm sure there is a date code on them somewhere but I don't know where or how to read the code.

Thanks, I'm going to call the vendor Monday. I had them done at Discount Tire. They've always treated me well. I think this is the 3rd or 4th set of tires. They've managed not to scratch my magnesium wheels.
