Guys, pulled the B&M and installed the Hurst unit last night. Bolts right in as did the B&M. First thing you notice is that the base of the shifter is larger than the B&M's and of a quality construction. I stayed with the factory installed shift tension springs; the kit includes heavier springs if you prefer. As for performance: it's smoother shifting than the B&M, sorta cliks into gear...not notchy, shift throw length about the same and it's MUCH quieter than the B&M...not quite like stock, but close. Power shifted 1-2/2-3 a few times without a hitch...the rest of the gears are a snap, or should I say a click.
IMHO it's is a superior shifter both in construction and performance.
To the many who are waiting, hang in there as it is well worth the wait.
Keep smiling guys....
I've had my Hurst on for over a month now. I was lucky enough to get one of the first ones. I have no complaints. It is not notchy and goes through the gears great. It is a little louder than the stock shifter. The shifter was a little tight moving through the gears and going side to side when I first got it, but it has loosened up and feels great. It is definitely worth the wait! :yesnod:
