Default TPMS Calibration?

Temperature just dropped today from 70-degrees to 32-degrees. My tires are only a month old. The front tires went from 30psi to 28psi (typical) with rapid temp drop, but the rear tires went from 30psi to 24psi on the DIC (both sides)??? I got the low tire pressure warning on the DIC. I checked with two pressure gauges and the back tires both showed 27.5psi on both gauges. So I aired them up to 32psi, but all day long the DIC never showed above 30psi.

What would cause the DIC to display the wrong pressure? Sensors are two years old. Rear tires were showing 30psi the past week which agreed with the hand-held gauges.

Sounds like the roll swirches may not be activating causing the sensor to only transmit pressure readings once per hour instead of once per minute. This would explain them not registering the change in pressure when you added air.

They are all that way. You have to drive the car to activate the roll switches which takes the sensors out of stationary mode. In stationary mode they only transmit once per hour to save battery life. Once the wheel is rotating the roll switches are activated and the sensor transmits once per minute.

Yes, I am used to it taking a while to register updated readings. Again today driving around still 2-psi shy? The rear tires updated from 27.5 to 30, but do not show 32 as they should?

I ma not having trouble with the DIC updating - just not accurate - today shows 30 on all four tires instead of 32. Maybe both hand-held digital gauges are wrong?

My sensors read a PSI or 2 lower than my hand held gauge and they are just a couple years old. Seems like my old ones did the same. Since I know it, it all works out.

Another unexplainable phenomenon!

You would think that a pressure update should occur once an hour, whether the wheel is rolling or not.

Did the ambient temperature increase?
Also, are you sure your gage is accurate?

Ambient has been pretty stable the past few days - within 5 degrees while I am out driving,

Can't swear to accuracy, but both handheld gages agree (one digital and one analog). Of course, now the DIC even agrees.
