I didn't try to long but my rack wouldn't go back in easily with it. As soon as I put the stock back on...job was done. Seems like a nice piece but I didn't have time to fool with it!
A couple of years back, I made a solid nylon bushing to replace the stock rubber one...and it seemed to make zero difference. The rack is held in position on the crossmember at two mounting points. The driver side mount is solid, and the passenger side has the rubber bushing. Seems to me now in hindsight that that solid mount has got the situation pretty much under control...theres just not much deflection to be had. I can't for the life of me figure out why they put that rubber bushing there but, from my experience, it does no harm.
it's a worthwhile upgrade if you are removing your steering rack. The part is well designed and inexpensive, but you will not really notice anything for the reason mentioned above.
