Default How do I drain a cca catch can?

I just bought a ZO6 and it has a cca catch can on it. I just changed the oil and was wondering how I empty the catch can. I think I know how I just wanted to make sure, I never had a catch can before. Below is a picture of it. Thanks for the help.

Congrats on the Z06,
To drain the oil from the catch can, simply loosen the petcock valve,
and use a small bucket or container (usually something pliable) to catch the oil that will
drain.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I have to remove my can to empty it because I have 2 water hoses right below it so I cant use the petcock. No big deal though.

I had to do the same thing. I could almost get to it, but there would have been no way to catch the oil. There wasn't any oil in it although the petcock plug was really loose, so I got it real tight. Thanks for the help.

I take mine off, unscrew the cap and clean the inside.

I forgot to mention that some applications you will need to remove the catch can, but as some people said that was no big deal.

Typically under normal corvette street driving (aggressive), you can get about 1-2 oz. of oil, per oil change or so. Where as if you were at the track you could get 2 oz in just one session.

I open the petcock on the bottom and catch the oil in a small paper cup. The cup is pliable and easy to position in that tight space. Works like a charm, no mess, no fuss

I removed the petcock,
installed a threaded hose fitting,
added a piece of hose,
installed a lever type valve, (where I can reach it)
added more hose below everything

All I do is put a container on the ground & flip the lever.

Brilliant I must say

I use a small glad disposable low sided plastic container, I tip it to slide it under the can and tip it to slide it out. I drai it each time I change the oil and have never had any of the "caught oil" spill.
