Drove my car to work ths am. Went to start during the day and nothing. I have all the lights working ang gauges and such just nothing to the starter. Sounds like it could be the clutch pedal switch? Can this be by passed so I can get it home?
"Sounds like it could be the clutch pedal switch"...
most likely... the clutch pedal switch contacts are out of alignment (or may be defective). Have that checked first. The old rolling start popping out the clutch start, may get you to the dealer to make the adjustment...(but wait) got a AAA membership?
I put a new switch in and still does not start. If the problem has anything to do with the VATS system, will the car start if I pop the clutch? Does anyone have any EASY ways for someone who does not know much about electrical systems, to troubleshoot this problem?

I have been told by a couple of guys to first diconnect the battery for about 10 minutes, then reconnect. This will reset the computer. Any chance that will do anything before I get into all the technical stuff?
Went garage to check codes...car started with no problem. Most likely from what I have read here, it will happen again. I pulled the codes and there were not any current codes, they were all history codes.
Here is what I pulled: PCM - P1626 TCS - NO CODES RTD - Do not remember seeing this code BCM - NO CODES IPC - U1255

I took this from another website. This did happen...when the car initially started, it immediately stalled.
DTC P1626 can cause a no-start condition or normal operation depending on when the loss of the fuel enable signal was detected. The engine will continue to start and run if the condition that set DTC P1626 occurred after the BCM sensed the proper key resistor pellet and signaled the PCM to continue fuel delivery. The engine will start and immediately stall if the condition that set DTC P1626 occurred before the BCM sensed the proper key resistor pellet. With this condition present, the PCM will inhibit fuel delivery and the BCM will disable the starter.
First thing to try would be to clean the pass key pellet using a eraser or use your second key to try to resolve the issue. This is absolutely related to the theft deterrent system not the clutch switch. There are 2 thin wires in the ignition switch that read the key resistance value. It is also possible for these to dislodge or break loose.

Exactly. This probably happened. The car for some reason couldn't read the resistance value, and thought someone was trying to steal the car. So it shut off fuel.

In this case, it never went that far, since the engine would not turn over.
