Default Sil-Glyde lubricant

Hi Guys.
I have a 98 Corvette with squealing belts. I check the belts and they are in good shape - no cracks. I previously used a spray on belt dressing but I think it made the belts dry, hence the squealing.
On advice of my mechanic I bought some Sil Glyde so I could put it on the belts myself. The instrutions say to use it sparingly.
I need to know how much to dab on the belt, just a pea size dab or should I rub a thin coat on the whole belt.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Mindy

A squealing serpentine belt suggests excessive wear, pulley misalignment, wobble, old belts, etc. Applying a small amount of spray lubricant for the purposes of troubleshooting is fine, but it makes no sense to apply a lubricant to a belt that requires friction to operate correctly. Additionally, lubricant applied to a serpentine belt accumulates in the grooves, and does nothing but attract and harbor dirt, particles, etc.

I did not see the other thread on this same subject. Not sure why there are two, unless you did not like the answers you received on the other..

Bill and Vettenuts.....you guys already had this fully covered.....sorry for the redundant response...
