Default Looking for shock mount/shock installation pics

Does anyone have a pic, or schematic, on how the rear shock and mount gets assembled on a C5?

I've searched around and haven't found anything.

the top of the rear shock is bolted to a plate, the plate is bolted to the body/frame with 2 10 or 12mm bolts. The bottom of the shock is bolted to the (i know i'm calling this the wrong thing) I think its an A arm with one bolt, not sure the size.

Thanks, but I know that. I need how the shock and mount go together, not how the assembly mounts to the car. In which order the parts go, preferably in a pic.

That'd be perfect if the rear schematic was as detailed as the front. I need the install of how the rear shock and mount go together.

What is it that you are looking to do, replace with factory shocks or aftermarket? I did Bilstien Sports a couple years ago and used that diy with no issues. Just looked at my service manual and that picture of the rear shock assembly is straight from it. As I remember there wasn't much to changing out the rear it was pretty straight forward.

Do you have the F55 suspension? If so the procedure is the same with the exception of disconnecting the ESC harness and removing it from the upper shock tower clip for removal.

I have the H&R coilovers that I installed awhile ago. I'm getting a squeak that's not anything related to the sway bars. I'm going to replace a shock mount bushing to see if that helps and in the process want to make sure I have installed everything correctly. Just want to make sure all the little bits relating to the mount are correct.

It could just be that the mount at the top is not tight enough, just pull the assembly off and tigthen the nut at the top. I had this happen once, its a bad squeak but it was just a loose bolt that allowed bushing movement.

The rear's mount to the plate just like the fronts mount to the frame bracket. Same parts in the same order. There's the boot, then a bushing then the plate then the other 1/2 of the bushing then the nut.

The stock setup has the bottom washer for the bushing and boot combined into one piece. On some aftermarket setups there is a bottom washer that goes on first which will install so the "cup" is facing up and the bushing sits in it.

If you're still not sure then let us know what part you're unclear about or post pics of your aftermarket setup.
