Default What is the next step

Hello!

I live in Sweden and planing to get some more hp for my Corvette C5 2001

Right now i have Borlastinger Catback system and Blackwing filter installed.

I have ordered a Vararam VR-B2 and LG Super Pro longtube headers with cats thats going to be mounted in May by a dealer here in sweden. And i´m going to get it tuned.

Now my question is, what is the next step to get some more hp? Prefer to fix it all before i tune it. I want to know the cheapest things to by and install.

//Michael

About the only "simple and inexpensive" mod you can do is underdrive pulley, and cam. Problem is, next level modding is interdependent on other mods. You can get a UD pulley for about $200 US, but the installation is alot of work/expensive, and since you're that far into the motor, it only makes sense to put a bigger cam in too. Then you need to upgrade the valve springs, and should do pushrods too.

Why? It's simple, easy, cheap and 100hp is very safe. The rest of the time the car is stock.

How much more HP do you want? Headers, CAI and a tune are the base mods. The next step up is swapping out the cam (and maybe the heads) or adding a supercharger.

If you just want the car to move faster you can get more aggressive with the gear ratio.
