Took a car for a ride today with the new wheels and tires. The ride seems a little harder I would guess to the lower profile and wider tire. However, the steering is much lighter and the car handles way better than it did before.
Are thoses the Mallet 396 wheels? What size tires are you using?
Hmmm... these were/are the style used by Mallet, but they are now supplied by Nate from Xtreme (supporting vendor) so they are XMS wheels. The rims and tires are as follows:
Front: 18x9.5 with a 265/35 ZR18 tire
Rear: 18x11.5 with a 295/35 ZR18 tire
I say 35 is too much ... I keep my runflats at 30-31 cold, I have read non runflats should be at 32 cold... so if your 35 is a cold reading it is a bit high and definately would affect your ride.
35 should not be too much... I was thinking that you may have had it way over that. You can try 32 to 34 and see if the ride is better for you. Be sure to keep an eye on how your tires wear, just so you have the proper inflation for your car.
I agree with the 30 cold. Don't forget too that with your 18's in front you have given up 1/2 inch of sidewall. I have the michelins also in 17's up front and they definitely ride better than the stock run-flats.
