Well I'd like Introduce myself first off, My name is Jennifer and I recently purchased a 2000 corvette. Iam looking forward to learning from everyone on this forum..... anyway... my problem. I have had many problems with my new car, I've only really been able to drive about 3 weeks out of the 2 months that I have owned it. It has gone in for internal engine problems, they said it was electrical(bear w/me I'm just learning about my car.. cars in general). The check engine light came on again as soon as I brought It home. The only thing I have done to the car after I got it back is lower it. I have done a few other mods... but none that should affect the engine etc. How much more should I put up with before claiming it as a lemon.. Its going back to the shop this coming mon. Thanks
Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (c5modded)
Jennifer welcome to the forum. :) Sorry to hear about your car. Since its a 2000 did you buy it new? If so (at least in Florida) the dealer must supply you with a pamphlet detailing your state's lemon laws. It could be with the owner's manual. It is specific about whether your car falls under the lemon law or not. If you can't find the info with your paperwork, call the dealer. He has to provide you with the info. Good Luck.

Thank you for replying!!I feel a little better about my situtation now that you have given me some insight on what I can do to find out about my car.. I had no idea what to do....Thanks... As far as the car goes I bought It used w/about 20,000 miles. I will definately check into it though...... (off topic but I read that you were a golf pro! I love the game.. have been playing for about 8 yrs now.) .... -Jennifer- :)

Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (c5modded)
You may want to check the codes on the DIC yourself to get an idea as to what is going on. Feel free to email me at yooyotis@elp.rr.com and I can help you figure out what is going on. That way when you take it to the dealer you'll know exactly what the problem is and what needs to be fixed. This would be even more helpful to you if you did not have the warranty still. Let me know if I can help.
Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (c5modded)
Jennifer,
Thats cool, I graduated from Cascia Hall in '99. :) What model/color is your Vette? Are you getting it serviced locally or in Tulsa? If in Tulsa, let me know which dealership you are going too... some are more knowledgable than others! :D :smash:
Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (Patman36)
Patrick,
Cascia Hall? I almost went there, but hated going through the interviews and other stuff....hehe :) 2000 mill.yellow coupe, and yes I'm definately bringing it home to tulsa to get it serviced. Riverside most likely, thats where we get all our chevys serviced...... :yesnod:
P.S.
Its nice to know a fellow tulsan
on this forum :)
Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (c5modded)
Hi Jennifer and welcome to the CF! So sorry to hear of your problems. You see, I know how you feel...and then some! To date, on my 1999 vert, I've documented between 15-20 defects/malfunctions...several of them are items that KEEP failing. Just one example...since July 2001, my memory module has been replaced under warranty THREE (3) times. Wouldn't you think that GM would be interested in finding out why by now? Nope!
My warranty is up around August...then I am dumping the C5. I realize ANY car at ANY price can be a lemon and have many problems. In my case, I'm so stressed out over having "joint custody" of the car with the dealer, that I'm giving up on vettes completely. This is my third one and just looking out the window at it puts an ache in the pit of my stomach.
As other posts have said...check with the LL rules for your state. I've seen posts on here from members that had a lemon and WON their case against GM...receiving a new car! Good luck with it...and again, welcome to the group. Hope you enjoy your 2000 and start having wonderful experiences with it from here on out. :yesnod: :yesnod:
Re: Car could possibly be a lemon!!!!! help (c5modded)
Jennifer,
Riverside is where I have taken my car. They really know what they are doing. The Vette guy there knows his stuff, hopefully they can sort everything out. :)
There aren't too many people in town my age with a C5... and definitely no girls with one! :)
