March is just around the corner now and need to be ready for our test and tunes at the strip. We are also replacing the lifters as they were pretty dam noisy. They had been in the motor for who knows how long. Should be after everything is done. I'll update after the break in and retune or maybe sooner.
Uh, why are you going with a 2+, am I missing something? How much power do you make?

Makes 414 at the rear wheels, but, I'm going to spray it and have future plans for a stroker, I have a 6.0 in the garage just waiting for a 4340 crank. Just want to make sure that the clutch is good to go. We found some other issues after taking it apart, I may never use all the clutch has to offer, but, better then not having enough, especially with the 315-35-18 dr's. The 414 at the wheels was with a very soft tune. We are going to retune it once I break in the clutch. Probably hose it with 125-150 shot. You didn't miss anything, I just didn't give you all the info.

Well why not go with a 3+ then????? They are capable of 800lb of torque and have a good pedal feel, I am very happy with mine.

I think this one will suffice, I do drive it daily when the weather permits. I'm gonna race it couple time a month. I think the stage 2 is worthy of about 700 lbs of torque and I dought I exceed that. Have you had any vibration or problems with yours? I read some of the posts that guys have had some problems with the spec, but, seems to me it may have been installation issues that caused most of the problems. Then I've seen issues with centerforce also. I think its all about the install and break in. Do you run your vet at the track? Thanks for the feedback.

I DD mine everyday, and the 3+ is perfect. I hear bad stuff about the 2 and 3regular, i just try to tell people that when they have to go through all of this labor to do a clutch, do it right and don't underbuild it.

The guys with vibration problems used their old flywheels most likely and or didn't break it in properly.
I have ran mine at the track... unfortunately it was when the engine was going low compression. I got it to do a 1.8 60' and trap 121... but I missed 3rd and ran a 12.2... I ran a 12.1 in my stock vette and the 12.2 car was a stroker car.

Thanks, I'll see what mine runs in March. I will break it in properly, this is not a job you want to do over.

Just fired it up, put new lifters in also. Man that was scary as they didn't pump up right away. Took the valve cover back off and finally it started pumping up thru the push rods. It got a lot quieter, the old lifters just didn't want to pump up anymore. Shifted into gear just fine on the hoist, still have to bleed the system and if the weather holds we'll be out for a test drive tomorrow. We are supposed to get some flurries and turn off colder, hopefully I can get a few miles on it this week and maybe next week squeeze the trigger a little. It already sounds so much better, the clutch definetly had some real issues, I'm surprised it worked as well as it did. The ls6 clutch had just had enough, it should make another 10-15 hp as it had a pretty safe (rich) tune in it when I bought it. That would put it about 430, then some spray later on should be around 530 rwhp. That should make enough for my old body to handle. Thanks for everyones input, couple weeks we can go back to the dyno, thats a bunch of fun if you haven't done it. Then to the track when it warms up.

Here is the update. Got er done and very happy with the new spec stage 2+. Definetly a bunch different from the ls6, lots more leg pressure required which I expected. It wouldn't be a lot of fun driving it everyday in stop and go traffic in a big city. I'm sure I'll get used to it and once I get it broken in I can find out what its like to have a good clutch in the car. No vibrations, no real issues at all. Thanks to Jim and Ricky at speedtweekerz.com and they also did the professional install. They also pulled the heads installed some new lifters and I had the ported heads checked out at the machine shop. Must say they did a great job on that also.

Hey Roger, the new spec stage 2+'s are rated at 782 lbs of torque and are much easier on the left leg then the stage 3. I'm gonna like it and my old left leg/knee will for sure. thanks for your input on the clutche's.
