I need to wire up the Vette horns without the stock plug. Does anyone know why there are TWO connectors, and what the hookup would be? Most horns I've seen only have one wire (12 volt when horn is pressed) and get ground from the bolt.
Thanks
In today's world a lot of car manufacturers don't ground things to the chassis. Hell most dashboards are mostly plastic. The black wire is a GROUND wire. The OLD horns like 10 or 20 years ago all had one wire and relied on grounding the other side with the bolt attaching to the frame. Nowadays a lot of stuff has two wires. One for the hot 12 volts and the other for ground. I recently replaced my LO NOTE horn with an antique one so I had to do what you are doing. I also added a relay and SPDT switch with a momentary contact on one side and added a $9.99 AOOGA horn from Harbour Freight. Can add it to the regular horns for quite a blast or just operate it with the momentary contact for the true AOOGA sound. Incidentally if you still have a good LO NOTE horn from your C5 and want to find a good home for it message me and I will pay you the postage for it. I added a separate relay for my AOOGA horn since I didn't want to fry the existing relay with another 20 or 30 AMPS. Let me know how you make out. BIGHANK
Thanks for the help guys
So of the two wires, one is a constant ground, and the other is connected to 12 volts when horn is depressed.
Can either of you tell me which of the two is the ground? (I don't have the wire and connector coming TO the horns)
I'm putting these on another (one wire) vehicle and am trying to figure what I need to get it working
Thanks again

Thanks; I needed to see WHICH side of the horn plug was ground (and which was +). As I posted earlier, I don't have the inlet wires to look at, and BOTH of the wires on the horn are black.
