Help: Removing HUD and replacing with standard dash
Hi everyone,
I'm from Australia, and have been looking for a Z06 / FRC to purchase. I have been lucky enough to come by a low mile 2003 Z06 down here in aus.
If I purchase this vehicle, I will need to remove the HUD unit, as the laws here do not allow window displays.
How hard would it be to replace the Existing HUD Dash with a standard dash?
I have looked at the DIY HUD install page and it seems as if it would be possible.
What parts would I need besides a standard dashpad and standard bezel ... and will this install effect any computer codes on the car.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ... I'd Love to join the vette community...

to remove? about 3 hours to R/I parts and dash pad
very basic, just looks difficult
you can uplug the HUD and it will be fine, easy swap out to a standard dimmer switch on the left side
dimmer swith w/out hud
dimmer harness
someone would be willing to pay for the parts, but shipping might be tough
where does the car reside state side?? I'd be willing to do the swap, but location...

the law doesn't allow it? I would think it would HELP in safety. I know it does for me. With the HUD, I don't have to look away from the road while driving to check my speed. Very strange law.
