Default MSD Spark Plug Wires compatible with stock set-up?

Just installed new plug and wires on my stock `98 43M. Only mods are Corsa cat-back and dual cone intake.
Figured that after 12 years wires might get bad although car was running great.
Went for AC Delco platinum plugs and red MSD Wires.
Should I have picked stock AC Delco wires instead or MSD are just as good or better than Ac Delco wires?
The only concern I have is: are MSD wires compatibile with my stock engine and stock AC Delco plugs?
I once read that stock plug and wires compliment best stock ignition system.

After installation felt no difference than before.

Any ideeas?

My car had a bad hesitation at 50 mph with msd, replaced wires with ac delco, problem solved. Msd is 100% overpriced garbage.

I use MSD wires and NGK plugs on most of the builds i do. Never had a problem with them on stock or modified motors. Just make sure the boots are pushed on all the way and they do not touch the manifolds/headers and you will be fine with the wires.

You probably won't have any issues with the MSD plug wires(quality wise), and they are compatible with your stock plugs. The factory GM wires work very well on a stock engine, or full boogie 800 hp FI motor....so they are pretty much a no brainer. The price of the GM hotwires(red) is typically around $50.

At the end of the day, there is no HP gain from using more expensive plug wires.

the only reason I went with MSD is that the shop did not carry stock ones...I always was partial to stock wires in a stock ignition system...I did not expect any gains I just hope the MSD to be at least just as good as the stock ones

Would like to hear more opinions pls

UPDATE!

Drove the car today about 100 miles and wow...it DOES run a lot better since the tune-up.
I think my old wires were shot altough only 43M but still 12 year old.
Looked at the old plugs and looked very good...both tips were in great shape and no gunk. I believe wires don`t last 100M but plugs maybe. GM guaranties 100M on the plugs but not on the wires, right?
Anyway... very happy with my new AC Delco platinum plugs and MSD wires combo.
Huuuge improvment in smoothness and a little more power!

Just called Chevrolet and you`re right Iridiuns are now the stock plug however my car had platinums from the factory.
I had the new plugs installed at WCC and picked them up myself from their shelf AC Delco Platinums part # 42-993. Do these work in my 98?
Was told by Chevrolet that 91-985 are the stock iridium plugs starting 1999.

So should I replace them w iridiums?...The car runs waaay better than before but I know that the correct plug needs to be installed.
I assumed that a Corvette shop like WCC would not have plugs that would not fit a Corvette. After all the guy at the counter specified that I don`t need iridiums (had both boxes in hand) so I bought the platinums.
Can anyone here tell me what year Corvette uses AC Delco part# 41-993 and if this part is compatible with my `98?
ThANX!

Just looked up the original part number in owner`s manual for the spark plug and is 91-931....so looks like I installed a different part, however I was told by a local dealer parts manager that part#`s can get all mixed up at times...please help!

I'm not sure what type of revelation you are looking for here. If you want the latest release plugs for your car, then they would be iridiums. If I'm not mistaken, the plugs switched to iridiums in 99. The reality is, the plugs you have will work just fine, and most likely provide many years of reliable service.

You will be fine with the plugs you have. Just leave them in your car and don't lose any sleep over plugs and wires.

Right!
I just wanted to see if installing a different plug than the one GM recommends would negatively impact the performance of the engine, gas mileage etc.
