Default Power locks question

I just bought a 2002 convertible. I thought the power lock actuator for the driver's side was broken since the remote isn't locking it. Then I realized that on occasion, the power lock button doesn't lock it, either. Now I have no idea what the problem can be. It does seem intermittent as sometimes the door button works properly. The remote NEVER works, though. Any suggestions? I was going to just replace the actuator (at a price of $250) but now I see it does work...just not consistently.

Most likely the LDCM (Left Door Control Module) relays contacts are worn. Some people were able to find replacement relays for them or you can replace the whole module. I hear that it might be possible to swap the door control modules so that you can test if its really the source of the problem.

Read my post on this, it will explain everything you need to know about how to fix the door lock problem. This is quite common and yes, you can swap the door control modules if you wanted to test, but the door lock relays need to changed out. If you can't do the soldering, let me know and we can work something out.
