Hello i have a c5 automatic corvett 1999
i bought it tranmission died on the way home as i bought it used i was on my own. i had it rebuilt and it still does not shift great.
here is what it does.
if your in any gear and close to being able to shift normally and you stomp the gas pedal it will upshift instead of staying in the gear.
the tranmission gets hot and hangs up some times the shop i took the tranny to gave me a warrenty and said its electrical please help any one have this problem?.
Have other than stock size tires been put on it? Has the rear end been changed from stock. These can all effect shift points. Get the trans tune checked (and set back to stock).
yes tranmission fluid is full. tires are stock and rear end. the shop said it was electrical but they dont due that kind of work there. so not sure if its really that problem either.

So what happend exactly on the initial ride home? Did it start slipping ect?
After the rebuild, and you saying when it's about to shift normally and you floor the gas, the RPM's seem to drop lower (as in upshift) or do the RPM's go up really fast as in a down shift but the car is not accelerating as quick as it should?
Bought it used and the trans died on the way home ? I guess California doesn't have a 72 hr lemon law ??? Theres got to be more to this story. Were you beating the crap out of it and thats why you don't feel right about going back to the person who sold it to you?
I just don't understand. Did you test drive the car prior to purchase? If so and it was working properly then you have the worst luck or you were trashing it on your way home.
Either way sorry to hear about your luck. Many options, but the only ones I would endorse would be to have you get in touch with the guys at either RPM transmission or D&D Performance. Done business with them both, no complaints. I was treated fairly and everything is working perfectly. RPM supplied a stg III diff, and D&D rebuilt my trans. All I can say is perfect. The 541 rwhp 505 rwtq I throw it at it hasn't caused one complaint.
