Ran into a problem while installing the front C6Z51 sway bar on my 99 C5 coupe. Got the sway bar mounted, but not tightened because it is hitting on the lower fan motor. Has anyone ran into this problem before and how did you fix it?
Thanks for the reply. Mine is pushing the fans motor up some. But it looks to be working good. TVWBUG, did yous sit higher after you put the sway bars on? My rear is about the same, but the front is about 2" higher. maybe it will settle more during the week.
Lay it so it's sitting mostly flat on the floor. The ends of the swaybar should be curling up into the air. That's how it should go on the car. The middle dips down a little between the frame mounts. If you put it upside down the middle would go up and then it might hit the fan.
Also, it should have no effect on the ride height. But, did you put some grease on the frame bushings? If dry, they could be grabbing the bar so tightly it can't rotate which could hold the car up. This is assuming you had the suspension hanging when you put the bar on...
