Just came back home from X-pipe installation. Must say...my best mod was Andy's exhaust mod and this X pipe is the second best! What a difference!!! Only minor popping now during decel, but ALL of the lousy burbling sound is GONE! Now sounds like a car, not a motor boat!
Installed exactly like Andy and Ed said...in front of the factory H pipe. Tips stayed aligned and it's sounding goooooood! This mod really does work. :D :D

Glad to hear it Mike. I totally agree!

Hi Mike! Glad you like it. Like I said , my X pipe is not the fanciest but it is the cheapest and does a bang up job. The Exhaust Mod / X-Pipe combo is tough to beat. Great idle sound and still aggressive at WOT. And obviously the price is unbeatable. Check the Forum Mall for the discount price.
Yes, in front toward the engine...fits between the cats and the factory H pipe. Plenty of room all around for it. Super solid sound!!! Sorry, no pics.
Re: Andy, C5XTASY, et al....X Pipe (Andy@AandACorvette)
Right on, Andy! In fact, I will go as far as saying that mine now sounds like a totally different car! Never minded the popping, but the burbling sounded like a giant hole in the muffler. Got tired of people eyeing the beauty of the navy blue metallic, but then telling me that I should go to a muffler shop and "fix" that exhaust leak! I just can't believe how solid and smooth it is now. You did it again! My next order will be for the frame saver things for the sides. Wow...looked closely while under my car on the lift and it looked like it lost the battle with every driveway in town!!! Hope I still have enough "body" left to fasten the savers to. :D :D
BTW Andy, great job on your HOOD! You certainly have talent.
Mike You are referring to the Rocker Rails,I believe. They attach diectly to the steel frame and don't touch the bodywork at all. They mount just inboard of the fiberglass and stick down below the body by about 1/8". That way when you go over a speed bump or whatever, you just slide on the aluminum bars instead of the fiberglass. These and the Frame Savers (they mount under the front bumper) are a "must have" . I rely on mine all the time. In and out of driveways that would stop me in my tracks without them are no problem now! They're on sale right now, also. ANDY
Mike...yep, am happy to say that I now enjoy that sound on mine. Couldn't tell a difference between yours and mine (street use X pipe) at the dyno speeds. Maybe there is a difference at idle??? Must say, you are quite agressive on that dyno! I was waiting for pistons to come out the exhaust. :D But, guess I did the same thing with my blown C4...right on up to 6600 rpm. Attended a big Chev vs Ford dyno shootout in Charlotte, NC a few years ago. I was the highest of the entire day with 598.5 rwhp. Some of the Stang boys joked that anyone can make big numbers with the hood up...well, I said ok, watch this. My dyno run was with the hood down...no tricks. An F body came in second with about 510 rwhp. Ford didn't come close.
