Try pulling your codes and see if anything shows up there. You need to figure out if the tranny is causing this or the engine. When you installed the headers, were you careful of the tranny wires not getting onto anything hot? O2 wires same thing?
Clunking if its coming for the transmission its loose torque converter bolts. I dont think it has nothing to do with your headers. Pull the rubber access panel off and check all three bolts, or have a shop check it out for you.

Neutral is fine. I just installed some Long Tube Headers.
Would it be the 02 sensors adjusting. I am planning a tune up. I'm just confused.
Any help would be great

Pulled codes. Nothing came up. I also made absolutely sure no wires were near exhaust, even covered 02 wires in heat tape.
Looks like I have a tranny seal leak. Will check the torque bolts.

How did you arrive at this determination? There are numerous drive line components that could exhibit these symptoms.

Your absolutely right, but if it was another component other than the torque converter bolts he would be complaining about a lot of vibration, or really weird squeaky noises. We'll see when he figures it out.
Hopefully he can diagnose if the noise is coming from the rear, midsection, or front of the drive train.
Its just going to be hard for him to diagnose at home because putting the car in gear and going under it itsn't the brightest thing to do.

Your absolutely right. That's why I'm sending it to a tranny shop next week. I did notice a oil leak on side of transaxle.

Just curious how many miles do you have on it? I had 120,000 on my c5 before the first tranny rebuild and I had no leaks. I hope the people you take it to are trustworthy and didn't purposely overfill your tranny causing a leak. Down here in Miami shops do all sorts of things to keep you coming back.

Just clocked 12,000. Had to pull transaxle out 3 years ago to replace fuel tank leak. Did an oil fill then and haven't had a problem since now.
