Complete Column Lock Removal for a Track only Car
I searched the "Stickies" but found nothing about removal, only about the bypass.
I'm converting my '99 C5 to a track only car. I have completely removed the column lock assy and associated hardware.
I have HP Tuners and have gone in and set it for Column Lock "Not-Installed" and set the fuel cut off for 256mph. The car now runs regardless but......
The problem is I still get a "Service Column Lock" error on the DIC.
What have others done for track only cars?
Is there anyway to clear (and keep from returning) this error from the DIC?
I'm assuming I have to do something to the BCM but not sure what is the easiest cure.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Plug a CLB into the female connector from the BCM that formerly had the Actuator male connector in it. The BCM is hard wired to go through the locking/unlocking logic for the column lock function ir-respective of removing the actuator or anything else. If there were an easy way to circumvent this issue other than the CLB there would not be the millions of posts about this problem on this forum. BCM is not seeing the "completed" signal that it wants back to its lock/unlock commands and hence puts up the errors in the DIC. The CLB is an electronic relay that takes the BCM signal that it receives and turns it around to the BCM as a completed signal to keep the BCM happy. Your other choices are to reset it every time you start the car or ignore it............
