Default Drag racing question.

With drag radials, It is better to run 17 inch stock rims with emts in the front or to stay with 18 inch mallets with bfg kds? What do you guys think? which setup weights more, and which is better for ets? Thanx. :chevy

Not that it matters a lot, but any way you can reduce the weight in rotating mass the better you are going to be. There use to be a old saying so take it for what its worth " reducing 10 pounds of rotating mass is equal to reducing 100 pounds of static mass which equals .10 in E.T. However this also has many, many other factors but should give you the idea. Have fun!

best setup without grinding for 16" rims is to use 17" on the rear and mount BFG drags (275's). Just get an extra pair of your front rims. I was able to cut a 1.61 with that setup.

hmmm just saw your pic...... well get a pair of the 2000 rims :D.....

The stock 17's (2K and up) weigh less than the Mallets.

I run a set of ZR1 rims with the nittos at the track and they weigh next to nothing. My bests 1/4 etc. are in my sig.

Thanx Scott97, I will assume it's the rear zr1 rims since they are so wide, what size nittos do you have on them?

Thanx Intel55 the guy backed out on me on the sale. I'm really trying to find something used for now. Let me know if you decide to sell your 17" setup
