Need Help installing Shifter Plate
I have purchased a new shift plate for my car; which is an A4. This is what the new one looks like:
I had disassembled my console to install this plate, but I need to know how to remove the OEM shift indicators. Here is a picture of the shift ring off my car:
Does anyone know how to remove the OEM shift indicator area? It looks to be molded in, but surely someone has done this before!

No, the new plate secures to this ring. I've emailed the person I got it from, but no response yet.... I need to get my car back together before Monday!

Oh my! You were right! The Shifter plate DOES mount directly to the console! Thanks for waking up my mind. I just went out to test that theory, and you were right.
Sometimes things are much easier than seems.
