EBTCM issues in depth
I have been working on fixing the ever popular ABS, TC, etc problem on my 99 vert for quite a while. I finally believe it is the module. Codes are: C1222, C1226, C1233. I have used an ohmmeter to check the input pins of the module.
The pinout for the connector is found in the service manual on 5-119.
Here I will point out that the diagrams on 5-132, 5-134 and 5-138 show the High and Low sides reversed. Only 5-136 agrees. I haven't figured out yet which is right although I think the connector diagram is correct.
On my suspected bad unit, I measure the following from pin to GND:
LFL - 26K
RFL - 26K
RRL - 24K
LRL - 0 {shorted}
LFH - 24K
RFH - 24K
RRH - 26K
LRH - 30K+
I would say that the LRL circuit is shorted to ground internally but the error codes are for the RF circuit NOT the LR circuit.
I was wondering if somebody handy with a ohmmeter and had a module that had been removed as faulty could check it and see if there is some agreement. If you have a new one to check that would be great too.
