Default No Crank condition... Help!

This past weekend, I replaced my shifter plate and **** on my 99 A4. I also did a lot of work on upgrading my headlights, fog lights, and front corner lights. After all that, I went to start the car, and nothing happens! When I turn the key to the start position, the standard lights stay on the dash, but the engine make zero attempt to crank. I checked my battery, which is an 8 month old Optima Red Top, and the voltage was low. I put the charger on it all night last night, and it shows 100% on my charger. Still nothing for starting...

This can is my daily driver, so I had to get my wife to take me to work today .

Can someone give me some things to start looking for tonight?

What exactly was disturbed with the shifter plate and other mods? No crank problems are very simple, because there are only a few things that will precipitate that condition.

My first thought, was the switch that ansures the car is in prk or nuetral could have gotten bumped. I took the console back off, but everything looked good.

What others things are there that will cause a no-start condition?

A security issue i.e. key, ignition switch. Bad TDR, solenoid, low battery voltage, poor connections at the battery or starter, neutral switch, and fuses.

The neutral safety switch is on the tranny.

I checked the security indicator on the dash: it turns off when the key is in the ON position, so I believe it it not the issue. I checked all the fuses, and did not find anything there either.
