Default Most common oil leaks

Had my oil changed yesterday and discovered streaks of oil in under my oil pan, washed off the area but could not determine the origin of the leak. I check my oil level regulary and it checks out fine and haven't noticed any oil seepage on the ground. Are there any inherent or common locations where I should inspect?

Wipe and clean area than inspect again in a few days. What you see it could be residual oil from oil change

No leaks at all on my '04, and I look for that stuff all the time.

If there are streaks along the oilpan again (after you clean up whatever possible mess was made by oil-changers), then something i front of the pan is leaking and blowing back.

Three things that come to mind are:
oil drain plug
crank seal
oil cooler (if you have one)

Are you sure it's engine oil?

So you never have had any oil leaks. You take your car for an oil change, and discover oil streaks on the pan after. And now your looking for a source of a leak?

Is this a trick question, or am I missing something?

I had not been under my car for a few months but I had not noticed any leaks prior to oil change and no seepage on the ground. I've since washed and cleaned the area around and under the pan and will check it again today. I am quite sure it is engine oil and not anything else but it was pretty messy.
