For you guys that have gears and a cam if you had to do it over again which 1 would you do first? cam im undecided its a daily driver nothing to wild but gears im going to go with 4.11's.
Agree with others and joshua is correct on all, u might be in contact with this Gm certified tech guy name rick, and he lives so close to you, check his thread.
I should have added that my car is a base 6spd! Now I know they sell the ring and pinion gear with a bearing seal kit, is their any specialty tools that My tech would need he has done many gears b4 but not in a corvette ( IRS ). Or anything else I should purchase while im in their?
4.10 would be beyond brutal, i had 3.54 on my C4 Auto, at 80 Mph rpm was 2400, now on my Z06 with M12 tranny and 3.42 gears, at 80 mph rpm is 2000, now go figure Auto with 4.10 at 80n mph......
You can buy rpmtransmissions.com and they are supporting vendors here too, M12 gears is for transmission, thats a lot of work, u need to swap only 3.42 gears in differential (also called pumpkin). autonatic cars need odometer update too after gear swap they do this thru software will cost another 100-200 bucks. ECS does also check eastcoastsupercharging.com, contact rick also and iam sure he will take care of you. Leave your transmission as is, dont need to touch this part for gear swap.

Whats your opinions,
thanks,
Nick
I did 4.10s first and H/C later. No question about it - I did it in the right order. The gears are a blast and did not require the additional cost of a new clutch (like the H/C did). I also daily drive the car - during the warm months.
No my car is a 6 spd,
I live very close to ECS and since a friend of mine works their now Ive been trying to go their as much as possible but now a kid that I grew up with just opened up a shop and i want to give him some biz, as well.

Hey Nick, I can always send you out a ring and pinion so your friend can do the install for you. Just make sure he has all the correct GM setup tools. The C5/C6 rears are not like the old school ones and can be quite difficult to setup. Any questions just let me know.
If your stock clutch is good you can do a head cam package and later when you install your gear then install a better clutch. Using your stock clutch when you install a cam is good. It will take some time getting used to the feel of the cam. Why not get as much life out of your stock clutch as you can. Doing the gear and clutch at the same time is easier too.
