Since I have my car up on stands I wanted to take the opporitunity to raise it up a little. I have noticed that the rear bolts are different from each other. I will get a pic up after I get them off the car. Anyway, does anyone know the range of the Corvettes of Houston or the Corvette Central lowering bolts? I am not wanting the car to be totally slammed so I am looking to lift the car a bit. How close to stock can I get with the lowering bolts?
Here are some pice of what came out. This is exactly like the came out!!!!!! Are these stock bolts?
As you can see the nuts have diffrent sized areas for washer and ity appears that the bushing on the one that came out of the driver side had slipped passed the washer and was riding only around the nut. Any thoughts?
Those are stock bolts, judging by the small hex on the ends. It looks like the bushings were cut to make the assembly longer. One of the bolts looks like its missing its upper integral washer or is using a different nut. If you want to raise it, I would replace all the bushings and get a new nut as well. This is what a factory bolt covered in $hit should look like:
P.s. If that washerless nut had pulled thru that bushing (and the arm), the suspension would have collapsed on that side. Make sure the washer is bigger than the hole in the arm, or you will die...
I ordered the lowering bolt 14 piece kit from corvette central this morning. From the pic on their site it looks like they will have a pretty wide adjustment range. I hope!
