Default windshield wiper issue

Where to go? My wipers work fine but park in the up position! All speeds work as advertised including intermittent. When I go to turn them off they go down briefly to park then come back up and stay there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there are several threads on this.........i'm not sure the best troubleshooting method but do a search and choose one.

my utters were clean so i had no issues of trash build-up and water creating a problem.

i determined mine was a wiper motor, had the exact same prob as you.....all worked perfect just parked slightly higher than they should have.....i replaced wiper motor with advanced or autozone 1 since it was sooooooooo much less than dealer and had a lifetime warranty....normally i'm a genuine gm part man but this was one exception. all works perfect now and a fairly easy diy project, little particular in the way the motor comes out but just be patient, cover all painted parts so a slip doesn't scratch the paint.

ps while i had it all out i reconditioned cowl with mothers, back to black as suggested on another post and boy did that make a difference.

good luck

Had the same problem with mine as well. My udders were clogged. Cleaned them but it was too late. Replaced the wiper motor with one from Oriellys and all was well. Common C5 problem.

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICS OF THE WIPER CAM! If you dont put it back together right, your indexing will be wrong...trust me, I know!

Thanks for the replies. I did read the other threads suggesting the udders were dirty, however mine were clean. Will do motor swap out on Monday providing someone has it in stock. Will reply with the results. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the SUPERBOWL, go SAINTS!
