Transmission Drain Plug issues
I was looking to change the trans fluid and filter on my 4L60E transmission.
Saw the drain plug on the bottom and thought this will be a piece of cake.
Went to remove the plug and encountered problems. From what I can see the plug requires a 15mm socket. That was the best fit. No slop.
Problem was, the plug could not be moved. I was using a 3/8 drive long handled rachet and actually rounded the plug off trying to remove it.
Any ideas here?
I am figuring that I will have to just remove the pan with the fluid in it and once off, deal with the stuck drain plug.
Any helpful ideas are appreciated.

First of all, if you rounded the drain plug, you have the WRONG size socket or need a 6 sided model. If necessary to break it loose, use a 1/2" socket set with a breaker bar handle (with the correct size socket, of course). Taking off a pan with that much fluid in it is asking for a major disaster/spill.
