lowering c5
my z06 is lowered fully on stock bolts but its not enough for me!

i bought new bolts for the front..just rather know exactly what to do when im getting into it rather than staring at the suspension for a half hour..is there any threads someone can point out on a complete install of new front bolts.
also
i wanna get new bolts for my rear.. ive read a thread on here while back that u can get the bolts at a local hardware store rather than spending 50-60 bucks from a vendor.. does anyone have the specs of the nut bolt package i would need..

thank you!!

Here is the procedure I followed. Not all of the pictures worked, but the text is enough.
My lower "A" arm bolt wouldn't budge after beating on it with a rubber mallet for 30 mins... so I just took off the Upper "A" arm bolt, and lowered the A-Arm from the top. Same result, not much more work. Keep that in mind if you run into the same issue.

Enjoy.

It would probably take you a little longer the first time if you've never done it before and are a normal weekend fixerupper. After you've done it once, 30 mins dependent on how fast you can get your car in the air. IMO of course.
I'll post some pictures of mine as soon as I get a nice day to wash it up. It's pretty filthy right now. I still wish it were a tad lower. Only thing i could do is totally remove the bolts.

If you're pulling the front bolts out and putting in new bolts you'll see how it works.
The closer the bushing (over sized washer covered in a hard plastic/rubber) is to the leaf spring, the closer the A-arm is to the spring, thus lowering the car. The front bolts are reverse threaded, so they tighten and loosen the opposite of what you're used to.
I personally screwed my new bolts in as far as they would go. I'm lowered max on replacement bolts. I have pictures of the new bolts vs the old stock bolts with bushings, maybe tomorrow i'll post pictures so you can see the difference.
It lowered it maybe 1/2 and inch lower than stock bolts.
So it's up to you how low you want to go. The roads where I live are fairly decent. I don't have to worry much about bottoming out. I know the roads well, and know what spots I have to avoid. I have how ever hit construction in my previous C5 when I had it lowered, and hit hard on some roads I wasn't fimiliar with. So if you're asking for my opinion on how low to lower it, do what you're comfortable with. Lower looks better, higher is safer for the car =]
I think the A-Arm bolts were torqued to 55 foot pounds, and 35 foot pounds on the shock, and sway bar.
I may not be 100% correct on that, and TBH I don't own a torque wrench, i have to bum a friends when I need it. =P
the thread pitch doesn't matter, just get locking nuts to fit the bolt thread.you will also want to pick up 4 washers.somewhere around 1 1/2" diameter.
i am worried tho cuz i live in suburbs of chicago and the roads out here and fairly decent cept for railroads and ur good ole buddy pot holes.. but i cant avoid the looks of a lower than low c5 z06
haha.. it may take me a couple minutes to get across railroads but im willing to handle all the bitching and yelling from traffic for the Looks
