Default PLEASE HELP!!! Built Trans Problems No Reverse!!!

Ok...

I've got a 2002 Mallet Hammer Z06 with a 383 stroker and built M6 (unknown short throw shifter that never gave me any problems until after my tranny broke).

So I've got a built motor, with a brand new professionally rebuilt transmission (supposed performance corvette transmission guru), and a new Monster stage 2 clutch.

I had my tranny rebuilt because I fried reverse... reverse lockout problem perhaps... I dunno.

In anycase the car is VERY difficult to get into reverse now when it's cold. If I manage to get it out of the garage and drive it... then as the car warms up the reverse problem is less annoying but it is definately still there and a serious pain.

The forward gears are OK... but it's VERY hard to find a gear at high RPM. Normal driving is ok but your shifts need to be deliberate to avoid missing a gear.

The clutch engages with the pedal being pretty much RIGHT off of the floor. (Adjustment???)

I did notice a bit of run-out in the "torque tube shaft" end that goes into the bearing in the back of the crank when I was re-assembling the car post tranny build. But other than than I can't think of anything that is wrong.

- Tried the "shifter adjustment" procedure thread. No luck.

- I've also got a CODE that I need some more info on. I've tested the car at low speeds and I can tell when the reverse lock-out is kicking in so I don't think it's that either.

Anyone seen or heard of this before?? Is the clutch not disengaging? HELP!!!

Sounds like clutch is not disengaging. Did you replace the salve cylinder/master cylinder? When the transmission is difficult to shift into gears at high RPM, usually the clutch is dragging.

As for the reverse, I can't think of anything. The reverse has a single bronze blocking ring and is not temperature sensitive. Do you know what was replaced inside your M12?
