Upgrading base suspension to Z51 soon. Thought about the poly bushings (the red ones I saw on the forum) but heard poly squeeks alot more than rubber. Just wondered how many have experienced this?
I put silicone lube on my stock Z51 bushings and they screamed from the get go. I took them off and cleaned them, and the bar. They got worse. I ordered new ones and am taking everyone's (including Bob in parts and Ken Fichtners) to NOT lube them. That's my .02 worth.

Beside the squeeking:
my dealer told me that the poly bushings are very hard in ride, lets say: maybe too hard for a daily driver on normal roads. So I upgraded with Z51 sway bars and the matching rubber bushings. Ride quality is fine, big improvemant over stock.

I'd like to know how the polyurathane bushings fit the sway bars. My 2k Z51 bars measure 1.147" in the front and .945" in the rear. This converts to approximately 29mm front and 24mm rear. I just ordered 26mm and 22mm poly bushings from MAD, expecting that I will have to drill them out. Now, believing the swaybar shafts need to turn in the bushings for proper operation, they should have a little clearance to allow this. Too much clearance would probably allow them to "clunK" and the car to "sway" too much. My stock Z51 bar and bushings are so tight, I could not turn the swaybar shaft by pulling down on one side when both end links were off. Am I missing something here? I'll report after I get them installed.
