Please Help, I need Advice from all the knowledgeable people here
I have a blackwing, straight exhaust with x-pipe and the rest is stock.
I want to install long tubes, and want to know what is the strongest cam to install if I am willing to buy new springs, lifters and rockers. Do i need to also change the heads and put a new manifold?
If anyone has a combo of headers/cam/lifter/rocker/springs that have the best power/value ratio please pm!

Contact Mike, Doug, or Chris at (609) 752-0321 www.eastcoastsuperchargingcom. They did a "cam only" on my car when I had a 346 in it. No head work at all, I already had long tube headers. I gained 64ish rear wheel hp. the kit includes spring, reatiners etc. On the web site look for NA cams.
I suspect you want alot of hp, the problem is hp cost alot of
money. If you put in a big cam you won't be satisfied and you
will want more power. Ergo power means cash. Know what you
are getting into and do alot more research besides asking a
question on this sight. Good luck--I have been there.
REALLY big cams can mean a LOT of hp, but may also mean a little less drivability, low end torque, and even gas milage.
I know, it's all in the tune , but just be honest with yourself of how much power you want to make at what cost.
If monster cams (the ones that make the most hp) were perfect for everything, no one would bother to make (or install) small cams
Just my .02
Is yours' auto or MN6? what's the rear axle ratio? all these things affect your cam choice....Mike at Venegnce Racing gave me good advice on a custom grind for my A4....
It's an MN6 dankhts
road pilot, i want more torque than hp, I don't intend to race on the street, i want the pulling power expected from a v8
blow torch, as soon as I get the money to do any mods I will get a tune..
so many thing I want so little money.
I finally understand the mod bug..
I have to start with headers,
but dont know what after, if i should wait and stock up $ to get a cam AND heads (which i know are uber expensive) or go step by step....
At least I know I will find all my answers on this forum...
smaller cams are generally going to have a have some better torque and less hp at the high rpms. the two that I listed are in what most people would probably call the medium range. as you head towards the upper 330s/340 range you start getting into the larger cams. they will have a high peak horse power, but give up on the low end torque. I would talk to one of the resident cam experts to get some more advice. Also your lobe seperation angle is gunna have an effect on how it runs. 114 and 112 are gunna be the most common ones, and 114 with be a little more street friendly.
have you driven a cammed car before? I ask cause some people like the rough idle that comes from a cam. some people dont like all the shaking at idle. its all in personal preferance. more input on what your plans for the car would help make the decision. I would make sure you have a tuner lined up after the cam swap because you are going to want one pretty soon
also what kind of budget are you looking at, dont forget to factor in labor if you dont plan on installing it yourself
