Recently took out the Ripper (had it for over a year)and put in the Hurst. IMHO it's a superior unit and well worth the wait! Keep smiling guys....

Wish I knew, so I called one of the national venders and got the hurst today, to try it myself in comparison to the ripper. Let you know next week. Ric
I have a ripper. Like many, at first I thought it was too stiff. My tranny only had about 800 miles on it at the time. I now have a couple of thousand miles on the tranny, and switched to Red-Line oil. I am quite happy with the Ripper now, but I would like to try a Hurst.
Keep in mind that every car is different. I've been in one car with a Ripper and a little taller **** than mine and if feels easier than my stock shifter did. The "looseness" of the tranny will make a big difference.
