Outside mirror repair kit.
Hi folks, the driver's mirror on my Z06 is all yellowed and blurry. Recently found out that the mirror face is sold separately (from Ecklers for example) as "1997-04 Outside Mirror Kit WithHeated Glass• GM Repair Kit". Would that fit any C5 with heated mirrors? Every time I get a price quote from an OEM GM parts dealer the price is around $300 going by my VIN. Would I be safe getting the replacement kit above or is there something about my car that makes the replacement part (just the glass) extremely expensive? Thanks in advance.

Talk to your local dealer parts dept as well. That way you have face to face contact and they can show you what the item is on their computer screen.

Mine looks like a curtain has been pulled 1/3 way down the mirror......
Think you are going to find the GM unit is self-dimming, while the other unit is not.......Waiting on the conclusion of your research......

Mine does / is exactly the same ('03 Z). Blurry (more like a double) image, plus the glass has a different shade/tint to it, approx 1/3 from the bottom.
???????? Read somewhere that the auto-dimming is accomplished by lcd liquid of some sort ??????
Anyway, Im curious too as to sourcing a replacement. Cannot believe the GM replacement with auto-dimming is only $75 or so. I betcha the $300 is more like it. Any body with a parts book?

I'm amazed to find out I'm not the only one with that problem. It's exactly as you guys described it.. tinted with different collor (looks like it's burnt) and blurry from about halfway down.. Possibly some problem because of the auto-dimming then. If that is indeed the price I think I might be going the cheap route and replacing with a standard $70 glass.
