Default PreLube pump for cold starts

I spoke with some friends today about a pre lube pump that used to be available. And I wondered if anyone here has or knows of the availability of such an item...
Basically gets the oil compression up before cold starts...I thinks this could really add years to the engine regardless of Mobil 1 or standard oils used...
I especially want more years with my vette :)

I read about 2 systems:
1) accusump as already mentioned and 2) Pre-lube at http://www.pre-lube.com
Both have pros and cons.
Accusump is a very simple system but is big and acts like a single shot whereas pre-lube is an electrical oil pump which runs a predetermined time before cranking.

Check it out.
Hope this helps.

Moroso makes a nice oil accumulator (accu-sump) at a good price. It is quite big but it holds 5 qts of oil under pressure and when your oil pressure drops too low it pumps oil through the motor and automatically charges itself backup when the oil pressure raises to a safe level. It can also be wired into your ignition so you can pre-lube the engine prior to starting.

These are great for roadracers who might be pulling too many G's around the track and losing oil pressure.

If we can find room somewhere after installing the DRM oil cooler/HD radiator I am having one installed by ARE with the new motor.

I would suggest a small accusump (small enough to mount out of the way) with an electric switch. I 3-qt pumps tons of oil, and will pressurize the engine easily for startup. A 2qt model with electric switch is $260 from racerpartswholesale.com and is 12" long and 4.25" diameter. I imagine it could be mounted in the engine bay, or hang below the rear cargo bay if you are concerned about weight balance.

I can get the part numbers for fittings if you want to port it directly to your engine oil galley.
