Default Help with cooling issue

Started the Vette up after 2 month hibernation and heard a whine, can't say squeal but rather a high pitch whine and let her run and whine noise went away but now the cooling fans don't seem to come on, temp went up to 226 and I shut her down. If the dreaded water pump issue is rearing its ugly head, shouldn't the fans come on anyway? Any help would be appreciated.

you see any signs of water seepage?

I had some squeaking when mine was going bad caused by water drippin on the belt...not much just enough. As for the fans I can't say unless you have a bad fuse. Water pump is pretty easy job. Got a good deal from Gene Culley. Bought 3 gallons of Dexcool and it took me about 90 minutes working alone not rushing. Might as well get a new serpentine and AC belt while your at it if they are old.

Nope, no signs of leakage anywhere. Wierd, fans worked perfectly when I put her away. I am assuming they come on at 220 and not higher, like I said I shut her down at 226. Good advice on the belts.

Hmm...I would say you need to take it for a short drive and see whats what before you throw money at a problem you may not have...as noted the fans come on at a higher temp...I have swapped stats so I don't know anymore whats what when it comes to stock..even if the water pump is going bad it won't completely fail all at once.

hmmm, this is wierd, maybe I don't have a problem. Temp outside is 30 degrees. I ran the car for about 30 minutes in driveway and couldn't get it to overheat. Highest it got to was 234, then it back down to 226. I had Billy Boat exhause installed so it is louder but I swear the fans aren't coming on. I was checking the amp volt readings and they did occasionally drop ddown to 13.1 Ran both with heater on and off trying to get it to overheat. Checked fuse #14 Cooling fan ignition 3 and its good. I can't tell if # 42,43,44,45 Mini Relays are bad as they are not see through like your other fuses. Wierd.
I can't take it on the streets for a drive as I save 40% on my car insurance if I don't drive it Dec, Jan and Feb. Geet to take the beast out next Monday! whohoo

which I did... and you are correct

Fuses 46 and 49 good also, I am sure those fans weren't coming on as in the past, when they came on, temp came way down. Only thing left is relays and a ground. Car just sat in garage for 3 months, I suppose a relay or grounbd could go bad. What confuses me is in the driveway, I couldn't get it to overheat. I thought it would after 30 minutes. Wierd. Appreciate all your help!
