Setting up for 4.10 gears.
Just trying to figure out the deal with the 4.10 gears. I currently have 3.73's but feel the car needs more gear. If I get a used 3.15 rear differential can I just buy the ring and pinion set and set them up myself? What I mean by this is will the 4.10 ring and pinion set fit the 3.15 case? What case do the 4.10 complete sets come from?

I have that exact same setup. It's being built right now. Motive Gear is the only one who makes them. Paul of Corvettes of Houston is the supplier. I think he sells them retail for $490. I got mine last thursday and took them to Coast Driveline in Ventura to set up. I bought a 3.15 diff to install them in. After it's installed I have my 3.42 sold. That way I have no down time and I recouped a few bucks for the setup. This should be the perfect street gear. 2100 RPM @ 80 in 6th. I have a fairly aggressive cam and an aluminum flywheel. This should make normal takeoff much nicer.

Is there any special parts needed for the swap of the 3.15's to the 4.10's? Spacers, shims etc??
