Tried to start after sitting for about 10 days. Turns over great.... just would NOT start. Tried it again today - it started...... backed it out of the garage to wash it. Now It won't start again? I checked the codes... the only ones showing are all "H" History codes, so I am assuming they have nothing to do with this problem?
I sure hate to leave it sit in the driveway overnight!!
Cranked it enough now that I am charging the battery....

I believe I got 'em all and I "hope" I wrote them down correctly.....
Appreciate your help.
By the way... after charging the battery for an hour - I got it started and back in the garage. Although I can't say charging the battery had anything to do with it starting. Just after attempting so many times, I wore the battery down!

I HAVE had problems with the doors not unlocking on occasion. Usually when it won't open with the FOB, I rock the Unlock/lock button repeatedly to regain good contact......... for a period of time.
I would've bet alot on the reliability of this car up until yesterday....now I am a bit nervous to drive it into a situation that will find me stranded - turning over great, but never firing up!!
As for other history - back when I first got it (2001), I went thru the whole column lock thing - but I took it in for the recall and no problem since. Other than that, about a month ago I got in to start it, it kind of started - but almost like it had too much fuel, it died..... then wouldn't start for about 5 minutes.
Thats it...... by the way it's got 26k miles on it.
I had almost the Same problems with my 2001 Z06. The Dealer couldn't even figure it out. But Bill Curlee saved the Day. I used this Fix it Thread and everything's been good for a Year! Rip out that Ignition Switch and Clean off those contacts. Took about 2 hours for the Repair. Not really that Hard Either!
When you go to Crank it over, Does the DIC still say "Corvette by Chevrolet" or are your Gauges doing Weird things too.. This was the Clue that Bill Curlee knew it was the Ignition Switch.
The guages and Display all work as they should each time, so I am guessing it isn't the ignition switch.
Should I hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the ignition switch on?
After all the jazz the guages go thru, along with the other start sounds, I may not hear it, but if I should, perhaps I should listen closer.
I was leaning toward fuel pump, but after I got it started yesterday, it ran just fine for a few mile test drive.
Sadly without further investigative tools (pressure gauge), it sounds like try to get it started on a work day and off to the dealership it goes.
Sound like I'm having the same problem you are. All my electrical indications appear normal. Please keep me informed. I'm going to look at the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
I DO want to say though that, as far as I'm concerned a Fuel Pump either works or it doesn't!!
So I am pretty darn sure it is the Fuel Pump RELAY (#35 in the fuse box under the hood) causing it to be intermittent.
I had to turn the key to ON about 75 times before I heard the fuel pump pressurize..... then it fired right up.
I drove it about 4 miles to a known good respecedt mech. He wouldn't even let me leave it outside - which made me feel better. But when I shut the car off - just for giggles I turned it on 3 more times and the fuel pump pressurized each time.
So I guess the end of this thread is Fuel pump relay for me! Thanks a bunch to all who pitched in, I know more about my 'vette now and that is always a good thing - even if it costs a bit!
