Default bottom out -will bilstein sport help?

i bought some bilstein sport shocks for my base suspension. will this cure the problem with bottom out on bumps. my car is lowered and hate to lose that look and that is the reason for bottom out. i guess my main question is will upgrade shocks help bottom out or do i have to upgrade the springs.

Yup, they will definately help. With the stiffer shocks, the suspension won't travel down as far over bumps, hence you won't bottom out as often. Wth a lowered car, bottoming out in inevitable, but they will makes things better. I would see how you like the ride with just the Bilsteins, and then change the springs if it still bottoms out too much.

I have mine lowered as far as you can go, and I put the Bilstien Sports on, and have no problem with bottoming out, it does ride a little stiffer, but who cares it looks cool! :D

But, you're right, it looks great that way.

Hahaha.....nah, it's not that bad :) Mine is almost as low as his and after a few weeks you get used to the scraping. It's just that like once a week it happens that you cannot enter a parking lot or gas station the way you wanted and you have to go around the block hunting down that one exit that will "grant you access" :)))

Cheers,

Goetz

I put Billstein Sports on my Z51 lowered 2" in back. Height to inside lip of fenderwell is 26 5/8". There's a couple dips in the roads I drive, and when I go over them at 70 mph, I think I'm bottoming out. There's no loud bang or impact through the chassis, but I'm booted in the butt by the seat so that the shoulder strap catches me and pulls me back down. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm also lowered (stock suspension) and going to the Bilstein's. I upgraded to the newer Z51 bars a few months ago, and feel the Bilstein's should complete the package just how I want it. No interest in changing the springs.
