Default Seat Memory Buttons Working Intermittently

The #2 seat (or should I say driver position) memory button seems to be working when it feels like it Most of the time it works, but sometimes it does not move the seat, steering column & mirrors. I have to move everything, hold the #2 button to store the setting, then it works. I test it by hitting the #1 button, everything moves, then hitting the #2 (after the store) everything moves like normal.

Any ideas? I was thinking perhaps it's the module underneath the seat that may be starting to go, or there's a bit of a wire short or bare wire showing inside the accordion at the door. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sal, This may or may no apply to your situation, but I think it will. If you leave the car and re-enter without locking and unlocking the door, the Drivers Door will not restore your seat to your memory setting when you put the key in the ignition. I have heard it debated as to whether this is in fact the way it works but I know mine works that way. I went through the same thing you described and know of others with the same problem, and that was the solution for them as well. Hope that helps, "pear"

Pear,

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that and see if that's the culprit. I appreciate it

Mine works the same way. The memory function does not work when inserting the key unless you lock and unlock the car. So if I know the car is not locked; I hit the unlock butting when entering and then the memory function works when inserting the key.
