Got the Z06 out of the garage for the first time since November. Battery was dead, but it was acting weak the last few times I started it before putting it up for the winter, so I just pulled it and went and got a new one. The car started rite up I let it sit and idle for a while drove it to the gym and back and everything seemed fine. Then I went to start it today and it wouldn't start. I opened the door and the dome light and dash lights came on like normal but as soon as I put the key in the ignition and turned it everything died. no power anywhere. Didn't even turn the key enough to start it just to the accesory position. Power lock, window nothing would work like the battery was disconnected. The car sat for about ten minutes then my keyless entry would lock and unlock the doors, the dome light came on when I opened the door, so I tried to start it again and the same thing happened. I'm baffled need some suggestions.
the battery would be a pretty obvious place to start..
The battery is brand new. I think it's a security or anti theft issue. Dome lights, power locks work fine until you turn the key and then there is no power at all. If it was the battery the dome light wouldn't be bright as normal then suddenly dead.
Actually that's exactly what it would do. And it being "brand new" also means that it's only worked right for you what, once? You have no reason to have confidence in that battery
Also it's worth checking the terminals--give them a good cleaning if you havent already. if you did already, then recheck the connections
This is, without a doubt, battery related in someway.

There is no security or anti theft issue that will cut your power like that. I agree it's a battery or connection issue. Check the battery first, yours would not be the first "brand new battery" to be bad.

check the connections first.. i've personally hand tightened a battery cable on before and had this exact thing happen... it would be fine for interior lights and stuff but everything would go out when i tried to start the car. tightened them up and everything was fine
