I test drove a 2001 vett last night. The service abs and servisc the
traction control warning came on. We read the owners manual. It said to stop , turnoff the car. We did for 1 min. re started and no warnings.
The wife and I are thinking about buying this vett. What concerns should we have about these warnings coming on.
Hey man, it is USUALLY a familiar problem with Vettes (C5) where there are multiple connectors to the wheel hub to the ABS computer and the connectors (male/female prongs) are a poor design and often have a weak connection that can be lost when hitting a bump and will immediately set off the ABS/TRACTION CONTROL warning light. Also if aftermarket wheels have been put on check the wiring as it often gets chaffed by the tire/wheel.

Something will need to be repaired or replaced. It could be simple and cheap or a pita and expensive. You should pull the codes using the DIC and see what comes up. If you do not know how to do this, find someone who knows these cars to help you. The Vette is a great car but if you don't know these cars and what to look for you can really get screwed. B\\G
