The recommended way to lift the front end appears to be with "Rhino Ramps". So I pick up a pair at Pep Boys for $30. Hey! There's a C5 right on the wrapper so they must work! I get them home and guess what. They don't work. I can't get them pressed against the leading edges of the front tires because the spoiler gets in the way. I suppose I could take off the left and right sides of the spoiler but nobody mentioned that in those attached DIY links and the picture of the C5 on the wrapper shows a C5 up on the ramps with the spoiler still on. Did anybody else have this problem? Is there some step I missed? Thanks!
Actually, if you feel the air dams, you'll notice how soft and almost rubbery they are. I never hurt them with my Rhino Ramps. BUT, if your car is lowered, you'll need to use a couple of 2x10's as "pre-ramps" to get the fascia high enough to clear the air dams. I had to with my car lowered 1". Some here have even built custom angled pre-ramps to fit the Rhino's.
I have the Rhino ramps too and saw the C5 on the packaging. Yes, you must allow the spoilers to bend. There is no damage in doing this. I've put the car up on ramps a zillion times. The spoilers just spring back into place.

I don't like the idea of the black rubber spoiler bending but it will flex back into shape. I wish I had the chump change to buy a lift.
Here's a trick I learned! Lay towels down and put the ramps on the towels, let the towels stick out past the ramps. So when you drive up to the ramps the tires are on the towels. When you get to the ramps the ramps can't move because the car is on the towel and the ramp is on the towel. It's easier to do than try and explain it.
It works!
Yeah, just as everyone has said, let the ramps bend as they will pop back in place after they clear the ramps.
I am getting ready to lower my car so I will have to come up with something different then as I won't be able to run up on the ramps anymore. I plan on fabricating some pre-ramps or just some miniramps and then jacking the car manually and setting it back down on the ramps that I will slide under the tires once they are high enough.
I just bought my second pair of Rhino Ramps. Read where one person jacked up car and slide second pair under other wheels (back wheels). $60 is cheap for a "mini lift". It gets car level for oil change and checking trans and differential.
Well, I have more of a problem than that. I can't use the rhino ramps because the fascia (not the black rubber spoiler) hits the ramps before the tires get there. Even if I drive up on 2x10's first (which bend the rubber spoilers), the fascia hits before the wheels. Last time I changed my oil it took me 45 minutes to get the car in the air (working alone). However, my car seems to be in the minority here, and I'm getting ready to post (again) to see if anyone has any tips on lifting my car...
if anyone wants a set of Rhino ramps FREE of charge, email me with your shipping account number (UPS, FedEx...) and $10.00 to defray my costs for finding a box and I will gladly ship those things to you just to have the relief of getting them out of my garage!
build your own ramps using three 2"x12" boards, staggered properly (then glued and nailed together) you can easily stagger them so that you will never bend the small flexible spoilers, and you can also stagger them so that if you should drive off the top board, the next one below will be there so that you don't trap the ramp under your rocker panel. I made my own. You'll get about six inches of clearance. For the pic below drive up from right to left. Be sure that the top board has enough clearance to center your tire so that you can place chocks in front of and behind the front tire(s) when using your jack to lift the rear for a complete drain. Also, be sure to move the top board around 12 inches to the right (in case you overshoot your approach on the ramps)...pic did not display this.

I use the Rhino ramps and my drive way is at an angle so saves me from jacking the rear up.
It was a little lesson on learning how to at first. Best way is take the ramps and jam them against the front wheels and slowly drive up on it. The ramps won't move anymore.
I just did it over the weekend for the second time, piece of cake.
