I do not believe the newest version LS6 manifold offers more power over the older LS6 manifolds. The fix was for the "squeel" on some cars. Also, they changed manufacturers for the manifolds.

I still have to wonder if they didn't do some performance tuning to the manifold since they we're investing in a new mold...might as well incorporate any new found data, etc.

HI there,
YOu are NOT getting blowby, as this is a normal operating characteristic of c5 class engines, as every one does it, plain and simple.
There is NOTHING that needs to be done.
Under WOT, or even slightly agressive driving, you will NOT be able to scavenge all oil vapor into the PCV system, and burn it.
Some will be pushed out the fresh air hose, into the intake, and thereby be deposited in the intake ports.
You are fine, and there is nothing that will cure this normal operating condition.
Just the facts here, and glad it all went well, c4c5 :smash:

c4c5, thanks for the clarification regarding the oil covered intake port. I also appreciate your write up with tips/tricks on the other C5 Forum. They were invaluable. My hat is off to you, :cheers:

C5Noir.. sounds nice. Does the 02 LS6 intake fit on the LS1's? I have a 99 FRC that I am always willing to improve..

I did this mod on my 98 last fall. It definitely made a difference! The car idles better, is definitely stronger. I also don't get that "marbles" sound on first gear lugging(6 spd).
My only 3 recommendations for do it yourselfers. 1) Have owners manual 2) get new manifold bolts 3) a good quality torque wrench. If you skimp on the last 2 you can e-mail me on How To Remove a Broke Bolt From Your C5 Head! That was my extra experience! Enjoy!!!! :cheers:
