About 18 months ago I did the GM Performance brake package install, pads and cross drilled and slotted rotors. They have been awesome so far but recently I have noticed my brake pedal doesn't completely return the the up most position. I usually have to put my toe underneath the brake pedal and pull up on the pedal about a half inch.
I had a Chevrolet dealer completely flush the brake system prior to the installation. Yes, I am a diesel mechanic so I am not just a weekend warrior and "thought" I knew what I was doing? Could it be the heat from twin turbo Caterpillar V-12 engine I installed? Just Kidding about the V-12 but I am very curious as to why the pedal doesn't fully return to the uppermost travel when I let off on the brake pedal.
I was actually wondering if the dealership used cheap brake fluid and I am getting some heat induced air pockets causing the pedal to not fully return? HELP!
My guess is air in the brake lines for the spongy feel. Maybe some others can chime in here to see if that would cause the brake pedal to not return all the way.
thanks for the reply! I am going to bleed each of the calipers to see if I get any air. I'll keep ya posted. If anyone else has had this happen I'd appreciate your advice and input, thanks!
